Vijayadasami Festival in India
Vijayadasami, or Durgadasami, also known as Dasara, is celebrated on Ashwayuja Shukla Dasami. It is celebrated to commemorate the victory of good over evil. On this day, Mother Goddess Shakti demolished bufello demon Mahishasura.
On Vijayadasami, people make an auspicious and purposeful begining to the learning of art and education. Children who are to start their education are admitted in a school on Vijayadasami. People who also want to pursue the learning of any other artforms commence their studies on Vijayadasami.
