Election for 14 Lok Sabha constituencies of Jharkhand will be held in four phases. Number of seats allotted as per schedule - April 29 (3 seats), May 6(4 seats), May 12(4 seats) and May 19 (3 seats). The final counting of votes will take place on May 23.
It will be a tough battle for BJP, which won 2014 Assembly election, where it defeated Congress (INC) and its major allies Rashtriya Janata Dal, Janata Dal (United), and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). BJP got around 42 out of the 81 Assembly seats, but this time it would be a tough battle. The Congress will be contesting in alliance with the JMM. While BJP has joined with All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) for 14 seats, Congress-JMM are yet to release the seat sharing pact. The state is one of the tough battles, which could decide fate of BJP at the centre.
