Haryana Election 2019

Over 1.74 crore people in Haryana will be exercising their franchise for the 10 Lok Sabha seats. The election for the seats will be held on the sixth phase of the poll schedule (May 12). Counting of votes will happen on May 23.

Haryana will have a multi corned Lok Sabha Election, with the ruling BJP, Congress and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) will be fighting each other for the 10 Lok Sabha seats. In the 2014 general elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had scored a wonderful win by plucking 7 seats, while the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won 2 seats. The Congress had won one seat. Riding on the positive sentiments, the BJP won a majority with 47 seats in 2014 Assembly Elections. But the BJP will have to face tough competition in 2019 Lok Sabha election. One must observe that there is a significant increase in the number of voters. Currently there are 1.74 crore electorate in the state, as against over 1.60 crore in 2014 LS polls. Of these 8 lakh are females.
