Lalu opposes any hike in kerosene price
Faced with crucial assembly polls in Bihar to be held in October and November, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad on Wednesday opposed any hike in the price of kerosene and demanded reduction in diesel price.
"There must not be any hike in kerosene price. Diesel prices should also be decreased", Lalu said.

Two-and-a-half months after the Rabri Devi-led RJD government was thrown out of power in the February polls in Bihar, her husband and party chief Lalu Prasad has got a reason to smile. In one stroke, the Centre gifted him power on a platter with two troublesome DMs - CK Anil of Siwan and KK Pathak of Gopalganj -- having been transferred and a retired IAS officer and loyalist Arun Pathak appointed adviser to the Governor.
So far, Chief Secretary KAH Subramanian had been working as acting advisor to the Governor.

Centre appoints advisor to Bihar Governor
Former Bihar Chief Secretary, Arun Pathak, has been appointed advisor to Governor Buta Singh, nearly two-and-a-half months after President's Rule was imposed in the state on March 7.
Pathak, who will help the Governor in administering the state, will formally take charge on Friday.
So far, Chief Secretary KAH Subramanian had been working as acting advisor to the Governor.

Railway Minister Lalu Prasad on Tuesday moved the Supreme Court saying he wanted to "communicate" to the judges "in confidence" his wishes and apprehensions on the composition of a Patna High Court Bench. The Bench has been constituted to hear his petition challenging the sanction for prosecuting him in a disproportionate assets case.
