The University of Madras is one of the pioneers University in Tamilnadu which was founded in the year 1857.The University campus is located in Chepak, Chennai. Other than University Campus there are many colleges all over tamilnadu which are affiliated to Madras University.
The University offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, M.phil and Research studies in regular streams. It offers programmes in distance education mode except Research studies. Other than graduate programmes it also offers diploma and foundation courses for the students. So, students even if he/she doesn’t have proper education were able to continue their studies.

Anna University
The Anna University is the well known institute for higher studies in Engineering, Technology and Research. It was established in the year 1978.Anna university is accredited with five star by UGC which is the highest rating as the University is excellent in both academic and research areas.
The university main campus is situated in Guindy.The other campuses are in chrompet and Taramani. Many of the Engineering Colleges in Tamilnadu were affiliated with Anna University. Other than technical education the university also focuses on studies like Fashion technology, Sugar Research , Mechatronics, EntreprenuershipDevlopment .
