West Bengal Assembly Elections Results 2016

Trinamool Congress is to retain the government in West Bengal. Mamata Banerjee-led party has established an unassailable lead surging ahead in 211 constituencies of 294 seats. The half-way mark in the House is 147.

The Trinamool wave appeared to be crushing all the opposition in the southern parts of the state while the Left-Congress challenge was most visible in northern Bengal. Trinamool Congress has grabbed 46.1 per cent of the vote share. The Congress-Left Front combine is ahead in 69 seats, the BJP in seven and independent in one.

Interestingly, the Congress, which contested the assembly elections here in alliance with the Left, is likely to win more seats than its partner.
