History of Nadi Astrology
The Nadi leaves are said to be at least 2000 years old passed down from generation to generation of the nadi astrologers family. The art of Nadi reading is taught and passed down from father to sons and mostly kept limited to family members. Nadi astrologers claim that seven Maharishis (sages) namely Agasthya, Kausika, Vyasa, BoharBrigu, Vasishtha and Valmiki had predicted and then written down about the life of every individual on palm leaves with their spiritual powers. However, some of these leaves got destroyed due to various reasons over a period of time. It is due to this reason that many times people do not find their nadi leaf and can be benefited by these predictions. These Nadi leaves are said to have been kept in the Tanjore Saraswati Mahal temple in Tamilnadu when the British discovered them. At this time some leaves got destroyed and some were auctioned and yet some Nadi leaves remained with the families of astrologers in Vaitheeswaran Koil. These leaves were later rediscovered and exact copies of the nadi predictions were made on palm leafs.
There is no free Nadi astrology readings as the children of the early nadi readers earn their livelihood from these readings. The charges for finding the Nadi leaf and the first general predictions come at reasonable rates but further readings may seem a little costly. Anyhow by the time anyone is desirous of a detailed reading he or she is convinced of the importance of these readings and perhaps that is the reason for the higher cost. Since these nadi leaves are from vedic times the language of the Nadi leaves is mainly a mix of Tamil and Vedic. In fact Tamil is an ancient language and it may be possible that the language used in these vedic Nadi astrology is the tamil used in those times.
Finding a Nadi Astrologer for Nadi Astrology in Chennai and many parts of tamil nadu is fairly easy as the family has spread out. However one can find Nadi readers in Delhi, Noida and Gurgoan too. Only problem is they do not have as many books as in Chennai, so one may have to wait as they get other sets which they share with family members in other Nadi astrolgy centers.
