Dominance of Trinamool Congress in Kanthi Uttar (North) assembly is evident from the fact that party had won all the sixteen assembly constituencies in the Purba Medinipur district in which the Kanthi Uttar (North) is located. And the trend continues to be same with opposition parties in a state of complete disarray. CPM which is trying hard to retrieve its lost ground is faced with internal factionalism and BJP, though buoyed by its performance in the Lok Sabha polls, is still in the category of also-ran in Kanthi North. The party will try to hold on to the vote share which it received in 2014.
