While the BJP’s victory margin in Sikandrabad assembly constituency in 2012 was just 123, in the 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, the assembly segment had given a lead of 27408 votes to the BJP Gautam Buddha Nagar Lok Sabha nominee and the current Union Minister Mahesh Sharma over his nearest SP rival Narendra Bhati who received 79635 votes in the Sikandrabad assembly constituency.
