Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) enjoys the edge in Sidhauli assembly constituency. This can be gauged from the fact that though the BJP candidate from the Mohanlalganj Lok Sabha constituency, Kaushal Kishore had won the parliamentary seat in 2014 by a margin of 1,45,416 by defeating his nearest BSP rival, R. K. Choudhary, the former had trailed behind the latter in the Sidhauli assembly segment by 13692 votes. In the coming 2017 assembly election, Sidhauli will witness a keen contest among BSP, BJP and SP which currently holds the seat.
