A tough fight is on the cards for the coming 2017 assembly election to Shohratgarh where BJP has a slight edge. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP candidate from the Domariyaganj Lok Sabha constituency, Jagdambika Pal, had secured a lead of 25329 votes over his nearest BSP rival Muhammad Muqeem in the Shohratgarh assembly segment.
