Though SP Lok Sabha candidate from Firozabad Akshay Yadav had established a lead of 29090 votes over his nearest BJP rival in the Shikohabad assembly segment in the 2014 parliamentary elections, BJP improved its tally from 11697 in 2012 to 74949 in 2014.
