The BJP had secured 69227 votes in the Saiyadraja assembly constituency in the last general Lok Sabha polls in 2014, a significant rise from 4280 votes in 2012. In this assembly segment, the party had established a lead of 16681 votes over its nearest SP rival. The upcoming 2017 assembly election to Saiyadraja will witness a triangular contest among BJP, BSP and Samajwadi Party (SP).
