The upcoming 2017 assembly election to Saidpur will witness a triangular contest among BJP, BSP and Samajwadi Party (SP). In 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Manoj Sinha, the BJP candidate from the Ghazipur Lok Sabha constituency and current Union Minister, had established a lead of 5477 votes over SP’s Shivkanya Kushwaha who was his nearest rival in the Saidpur assembly segment.
