In the 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Mahmoodabad assembly segment had given a lead of 15896 votes to the BJP’s nominee of Sitapur parliamentary seat Rajesh Verma who got votes in this assembly segment. This is a sharp rise from just 3147 votes which the party secured in 2012 assembly election to the seat.
