Samajwadi Party (SP) has once again nominated Rajesh Tiwari from the Mahasi assembly constituency for the forthcoming 2017 assembly elections to Uttar Pradesh. In the Lok Sabha elections in 2014, Mahasi assembly constituency had given the BJP candidate Sadhavi Savitri Bai Phule a lead of 51800 votes over her nearest SP rival Shabbir Ahmad.
