The BJP candidate from the Barabanki Lok Sabha constituency, Priyanka Singh Rawat, had established a huge lead of 44820 votes over her nearest Congress rival and the then sitting Congress MP P L Punia in the Kursi assembly segment in 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
