A keen contest is on the cards in the 2017 assembly poll to Katra Bazar. In 2014 parliamentary general elections, the BJP candidate from Kaiserganj parliamentary seat, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh had led over his nearest SP rival Pandit Singh by a margin of 5915 votes in the Katra Bazar assembly segment.
