The BJP candidate from the Farrukhabad Lok Sabha constituency, Mukesh Rajput, had established a lead of 38187 votes over his nearest SP rival Rameshwar Singh Yadav in the Kaimganj assembly segment in 2014 Lok Sabha polls. BSP has fielded Ramswarup Gautam to contest the Kaimganj assembly seat in 2017
