In the 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Jewar assembly segment had given a lead of votes to the BJP Gautam Buddha Nagar Lok Sabha nominee and the current Union Minister Mahesh Sharma over his nearest SP rival Narendra Bhati who received 7579 votes in the Jewar assembly constituency.
