In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP candidate from the Fatehpur Lok Sabha constituency, Sadhavi Niranjan Jyoti, had secured a lead of 65621votes over his nearest BSP rival Afzal Siddiqui in the Jahanabad assembly segment.
