In the coming 2017 assembly election, Gaura assembly constituency will witness a keen contest among BJP, BSP and SP which currently holds the seat. In the Lok Sabha elections in 2014, Gaura assembly constituency had given the BJP candidate Kirti Vardhan Singh a lead of 13067 votes over his nearest SP rival Nandita Shukla.
