The upcoming 2017 election to the Chauri-Chaura assembly seat will witness triangular contest among BJP, SP and BSP. SP has fielded Keshavnath Yadav to contest the seat. In 2014, the BJP candidate from Bansgaon Lok Sabha constituency, Kamlesh Paswan, had secured a huge lead of 45902 votes over his nearest BSP rival Sadal Prasad in the Chauri-Chaura assembly segment.
