SP which is currently holding the Bithoor assembly seat is facing anti-incumbency. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP candidate from the Akbarpur Lok Sabha constituency, Devendra Singh (Bhole Singh), had secured a lead of 40400 votes over his nearest BSP rival Anil Shukla Warsi in the Bithoor assembly segment. However, the Modi wave is nowhere to be seen in the constituency. As things stand today the main fight is between BSP, SP and Congress.
