In the 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Bangermau assembly segment had given a huge lead of 44663 votes to the BJP Unnao Lok Sabha nominee and the current MP Sakshi Maharaj over his nearest SP rival Arun Shankar Shukla who received 35837 votes in the Bangermau assembly constituency.
