In the Lok Sabha elections in 2014, Balha assembly constituency had given the BJP candidate Sadhavi Savitri Bai Phule a lead of 23445 votes over her nearest SP rival Shabbir Ahmad. However, after few months the BJP lost the bye-election to the seat in 2014.
