The coming 2017 assembly election to Bairia will witness a triangular contest among the BSP, BJP and BSP. The BJP candidate from the Ballia Lok Sabha constituency, Bharat Singh, had established a lead of 24167 votes over his nearest SP rival Neeraj Shekhar in the Bairia assembly segment in 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
