The coming 2017 assembly election to Atrauliya will witness a triangular contest among the BSP, BJP and BSP. In 2014 parliamentary elections, the BJP candidate from Lalganj Lok Sabha seat, Neelam Sonkar had secured a thin lead of 606 votes in Atrauliya assembly segment where his nearest rival was SP’s Bechai Saroj.
