A pocket borough of former BJP Chief Minister and current Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh, Atrauli had backed SP in 2012. However, in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP candidate from Aligarh parliamentary seat, Satish Kumar had secured a massive lead of 42235 votes in Atrauli assembly segment where his nearest rival was SP’s Zafar Alam.
