In the 2011 assembly elections AIADMK party won this constituency under the leadership of Kumaraguru.R with 114794 votes. VCK party was defeated under the leadership of Mohamedyousuf.M after getting 61286 votes.

Ulundurpettai is a Panchayat town in the Villupuram district. It is difficult predict the outcome of the polls for which primarily industry, mill labourers and agricultural related voters will decide the verdict.
