In 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Tarn Taran assembly segment had given the Akali Dal nominee from Khadoor Sahib parliamentary seat a lead of 6322 votes over his nearest Congress rival who received 43591 votes in this assembly segment. The AAP candidate managed to bag 13604 votes to finish third in the Tarn Taran assembly constituency.
