In 2014 parliamentary general elections, Sujanpur assembly segment had given the BJP candidate from Gurdaspur parliamentary seat, Vinod Khanna, a lead of 20184 votes over his nearest Congress rival Partap Singh Bajwa who received 38407 votes in this assembly segment. The AAP candidate came third with 9449 votes in Sujanpur assembly constituency.
