Rampura Phul assembly seat is poised for keen contest among BJP-Akali combine, Congress and AAP in the coming 2017 assembly polls. In 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, the assembly segment had given the BJP candidate from Faridkot parliamentary seat, Paramjit Kaur Gulshan, a lead of 704 votes over her nearest Congress rival Joginder Singh who received 39168 votes in this assembly segment. The AAP candidate came third with 30159 votes in the Rampura Phul assembly constituency.
