In 2014 parliamentary general elections, Qadian assembly segment had given the BJP candidate from Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat, Vinod Khanna, a lead of 2426 votes over his nearest Congress rival Partap Singh Bajwa who received 49624 votes in this assembly segment. The AAP candidate came third with 19236 votes in the Qadian assembly constituency.
