In 2014 parliamentary general elections, Mukerian assembly segment had given the BJP candidate from Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha seat, Vijay Sampla, a lead of 16748 votes over his nearest Congress rival who received 35382 votes in this assembly segment. The AAP candidate came third with 23931 votes in the Mukerian assembly constituency.
