In 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Maur assembly segment had given the BJP backed Akali Dal candidate from Bathinda parliamentary seat, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, a lead of 1776 votes over her nearest Congress rival Manpreet Singh Badal who received 52929 votes in this assembly segment. The AAP candidate Jasraj Singh Longia came third with 7499 votes in the assembly constituency.
