In 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, assembly segment had given the Congress candidate from Bathinda parliamentary seat, Manpreet Singh Badal, a lead of 23199 votes over his nearest BJP backed Akali Dal candidate Harsimrat Kaur Badal who received 55869 votes in this assembly segment. The AAP candidate Jasraj Singh Longia came third with 9172 votes in assembly constituency.
