In 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Majitha assembly segment had given the BJP candidate from Amritsar parliamentary seat, Arun Jaitley, a lead of 20651 votes over his nearest Congress rival Captain Amarinder Singh who received 39550 votes in this assembly segment. The AAP candidate came a distant third with 5742 votes in the Majitha assembly constituency.
