In 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Ludhiana Central assembly segment had given the Congress candidate from Ludhiana parliamentary seat, RAVNEET SINGH BITTU, a lead of 11041 votes over his nearest BJP backed Akali Dal rival MANPREET SINGH AYALI who received 26727 votes in this assembly segment. The independent candidate Simarjeet Singh Bains and the AAP candidate came third and fourth places in the Ludhiana East assembly constituency.
