In 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Lehra assembly segment had given the BJP backed Akali Dal candidate from Sangrur parliamentary seat, Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, a lead of 11376 votes over his nearest AAP candidate Bhagwant Mann who received 35230 votes in this assembly segment. The Congress nominee Vijay Inder Singla came third with 25594 votes in the assembly constituency.
