In 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, assembly segment had given the BJP backed Akali Dal candidate from Bathinda parliamentary seat, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, a lead of 34219 votes over her nearest Congress rival Manpreet Singh Badal who received 35190 votes in this assembly segment. The AAP candidate Jasraj Singh Longia came third with 6590 votes in the assembly constituency.
