In 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Khem Karan assembly segment had given the Akali Dal nominee from Khadoor Sahib parliamentary seat a lead of 10689 votes over his nearest Congress rival who received 54468 votes in this assembly segment. The AAP candidate managed to bag 4825 votes to finish third in the Khem Karan assembly constituency.
