In 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Guru Har Sahai assembly segment had given the BJP backed Akali Dal candidate from Firozpur parliamentary seat, Sher Singh Ghubaya, a lead of 9428 votes over his nearest Congress rival Sunil Jakhar who received 43849 votes in this assembly segment. The AAP candidate Satnam Paul Kamboj came third with 12594 votes in the Guru Har Sahai assembly constituency.
