In 2014 parliamentary general elections, Fatehgarh Churian assembly segment had given the BJP candidate from Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat, Vinod Khanna, a lead of 18595 votes over his nearest Congress rival Partap Singh Bajwa who received 34515 votes in this assembly segment. The AAP candidate came third with 20968 votes in Fatehgarh Churian assembly constituency.
