In 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Dhuri assembly segment had given the AAP candidate from Sangrur parliamentary seat, Bhagwant Mann, a lead of 33837 votes over his nearest BJP backed Akali Dal candidate Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa who received 29352 votes in this assembly segment. The Congress candidate came third with 29352 votes in assembly constituency.
