In 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Budhlada assembly segment had given the BJP backed Akali Dal candidate from Bathinda parliamentary seat, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, a 3312 lead of votes over her nearest Congress rival Manpreet Singh Badal who received 63415 votes in this assembly segment. The AAP candidate Jasraj SIngh Longia came third with 63415 votes in the assembly constituency.
