A stronghold of the Akali Dal, Bholath assembly segment in 2014 parliamentary general elections had given the BJP candidate from Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha seat, Vijay Sampla, a lead of 9961 votes over his nearest Congress rival who received 28811 votes in this assembly segment. The AAP candidate came third with 14528 votes in the Bholath assembly constituency.
