In 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Balluana assembly segment had given the Congress candidate from Firozpur parliamentary seat, Sunil Jakhar, a lead of 5764 votes over his nearest BJP backed Akali Dal candidate Sher Singh Ghubaya who received 48446 votes in this assembly segment. The AAP candidate Satnam Paul Kamboj came a distant third with 7575 votes in the Balluana assembly constituency.
