In 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Baba Bakala assembly segment had given the Akali Dal nominee from Khadoor Sahib parliamentary seat a lead of 6455 votes over his nearest Congress rival who received 36553 votes in this assembly segment. The AAP candidate managed to bag 20896 votes to finish third in the Baba Bakala assembly constituency.
