The forthcoming 2017 election to Adampur is all set for a triangular contest among BJP-Akali combine, Congress and AAP. In 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Adampur assembly segment had given the Congress nominee from Jalandhar parliamentary seat a lead of 4466 votes over his nearest BJP supported Akali Dal rival Pawan Kumar Tinu who received 29966 votes in this assembly segment. The APP nominee managed to bag 28164 votes to finish third in the Adampur assembly constituency.
